Banners brighten library, arena

Several dozen colourful banners created by area artists are on display at the Owen Sound library and the Bayshore Community Centre throughout the winter months. The banner project is set to expand in the spring, so keep your eyes peeled for more. Hopefully, we'll see a new set of banners gracing the harbour walkways again this year.

There's a buzz around town over who will carry the Olympic torch and light the cauldron on Dec. 28th. We'll find out Monday, at a rally on the steps of City Hall shortly after noon.

The Owen Sound Celtic Festival is alive and well, with a new highland dance competition that will attract nimble step dancers from across the province, plus artisans, a mass pipe band and Celtic music, both modern and traditional.
